Music Recommendations
Jazz guitarist Joyce Cooling and her group are from the Bay Area - I know
their music from my favorite radio station. Their first CD release "Playing
It Cool" is a real masterpiece in modern, urban Jazz music with a Brazilian
touch. Listen to the audio demos available on their homepage.
Steely Dan is the band of Donald Fagen and Walter Becker. They have been
recording since 1972, and they have produced 16 albums by now, included their
latest release "Two Against Nature". Their music is an
excellent mixture of Pop, Blues and Cool Jazz. Even if their stage skill isn't
that sensational - I saw them live in London on September 9th, 1996 - their
albums contain perfectly produced music.
Chuck
Loeb is a Jazz musician from New York City. He has just released a new
brillant album, "Listen". It contains some real cool blues
tracks, arranged and played and in a very fresh and modern kind. If you like the
melodic kind of Jazz, listen to the Real Audio titbits on his homepage.
Fattburger,
a Smooth Jazz Band from San Diego. Those who know me will confirm, I'm getting
totally weak sometimes when listening particularly to easy funky
instrumental West Coast
arrangements like their tracks are. Their new album "FATTBURGER.COM"
is my recommendation to those who share this musical feeling. Enjoy the
demos on their pages.
